Mechanics and Mechanisms of Damage in Composites and Multi-Materials (ESIS Publication 11) |
| Editor: D. Baptiste |
| MECAMAT is the French association in the fields of mechanics and materials whose prinmary aim is to bring together experts from these fields. This aim was achieved at the Fourth International MECAMAT Seminar on Mechanics and Mechanisms of Damage in Composites and Multi-Materials, held at Saint Etienne, France. This seminar brought together scientists and engineers from materials science and from mechanics with a common interest in damage phenomena in composites. Mechanics and Mechanisms of Damage in Composites and Multi-Materials contains the 28 papers presented at the MECAMAT Seminar which represent the work of academic institutions as well as Government and Industrial labratories. This close relation between Government research centres and industrial laboratories provides a good interaction between fundamental and applied research.
Sessions on Organic Matrix Composites, Damage Modelling, Test Methods, Multi-Materials and Bonded Joints, and Metal Matrix Composites present current work on materials at varying scales; this can only improve knowledge in this field and this informative and original piece of work can be thoroughly recommended to all engineers and materials scientists working with composites and multi-materials.
