| ISO 9000 is the abbreviation for the quality standard set by the International Standards Organization (ISO). Many books have been written on the management role in adopting ISO guidelines. This will be the first to focus on those individuals at the heart of industry -- the product managers and developers. The emphasis will be on implementing the necessary changes at the product development level in order to comply with ISO standards. The standard is a set of guidelines on quality and customer service (in many way similar to the US 5 Baldridge Criteria.) It is of great importance to US industries because in order for a company to play in the market it will have to follow these important rules that are often neglected.
