Access VBA Programming For Dummies® |
| Alan Simpson |
| Access 2003 Programming with VBA For Dummies is a gentle introduction to programming in VBA with Microsoft Access. The focus of the book will be on VBA as it applies to, and is used within, Access. Coverage is applicable to Access versions 2003, 2002, and 2000. Part I provides basic skills and concepts and some general VBA topics for nonprogrammers, such as procedures, variables, and loops. The book then moves on to SQL recordsets and other programming activities that are unique to Access programming. The book contains practical, ready-to-use Access procedures (such as the ability to convert numbers to words for printing checks and skip over used labels on a label sheet to avoid wasting mailing labels) that readers can just "drop in" to a database and use without modification. More specific topics covered include: * Access stuff for nonprogrammers; * Using the VBA editor; * Coping and pasting VBA code; * Working with variables and constants; * Making arrays; * Opening forms and reports with DoCmd; * Creating recordsets; * Changing, adding, and deleting data in recordsets; * Creating your own dialog boxes; * Working with hyperlinks and email addresses;· * Getting forms and reports in sync; * Controlling lists with code;· Exporting data to files; * Interacting with other Office applications; and * Getting bugs out of your code.
