In 2006, Thailand had some 15 million international visitors. • 2007 has been named the Thai Nguyen Tourism Year in Vietnam, and Thai Nguyen expects to attract about 750,000 tourists, including 25,000 foreigners. New infrastructure in the area is being built in anticipation of the upcoming festivities. • Vietnam is home to 5 UNESCO World Heritage Sites including Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park and Ha Long Bay. • Tourism in Vietnam grew 18.4% in 2005, to some 3.5 million foreign arrivals, with the biggest group coming from China and the second largest from the United States. In 2005, U.S. visitors increased by 22.4% from the previous year. • In the first half of 2006, Singapore welcomed 4.7 million visitors--an 11.8% growth over the same period last year.
