Audel House Wiring, All New 8th Edition |
| Paul Rosenberg (Chicago, IL, master electrician); Roland E. Palmquist |
| This revision updates the 1991 7th edition. Work includes revising and updating HOUSE WIRING. Specific changes include the following: Rewrite Forward, which currently addresses only the trade market. Numerous Code revisions in past 12 years must be addressed. Drawings throughout need to be redone; they use an old style, and depict old styles of materials. Photos in Chapt. 13 need to be redone. Chapts. 3&4 (Load Calculations) will be moved to an Appendix. Add material on GFI and AFCI devices. Add a new chapter on DIY home networking. We can show a homeowner how to install a broadband network, computer-based entertainment system, etc. Expand Chapt. 15, rename “Cable TV, Security & Telephone systems.” Add “How To” telephone installation material. Eliminate existing computer wiring section. Chapter 18 (Summary) should be renamed, and should become the centerpiece of the book. Expanded a bit as well. “How To Wire a House”? Existing Appendix should be redone. We should start with the wiring symbols from our Q&A book, and winnow them down.
